2012 MeetingThe 2012 Rural Nurses Meeting took place in late May in Wellington at the Copthorne Hotel in Oriental Bay. More than 80 rural bus nurses and MSS clinical staff attended. Jane O'Malley, the Ministry of Health Chief Nurse, opened the meeting by emphasisng that rural New Zealand is the backbone of the country and that it is "critically important that the health of rural people is supported by good rural health professionals." This session was followed by a blend of practical workshops and informative speakers.
